Thames Path Marlow to Maidenhead
This really was a splendid walk. The sun shone, a gentle wind blew sending white clouds scudding across the skies ans all was well with the world.Except worrying signs of cracked dried earth
Morning kept us high looking down on the Thames from the south crossing Wind in the Willows terrain with charming views of river launches etc
The afternoon took us north of the river through Cliveden with further stunning views of the river mixed with stately homes and gardens The mileage was a bit longer than anticipated but I personally felt quite proud of myself to realise that I had covered 15 miles by the time I had got home

The official Thames Path Marlow to Maidenhead is only about 7 miles, so as we have often discussed I thought we could do this section on the other side of the river. It means we will have to do some orienteering, it will not be completely flat but it should be at least 9-10 miles if we don’t get lost!
Sorry about the pre 9.30 / senior railcard start but the trains only run every hour. And note, we need to change at Maidenhead.
