may weekend

This really was a cracker of a weekend
32 people rendezvoused at the Worms Head hotel, some for golf most for walking and were treated to a very special weekend The sun shone (mostly) the sky was full of scudding clouds over an ever changing sea scape, the walks were varied to cope with all levels of walking and brilliantly lead, the hotel coped with our presence with great care and a wonderful time was had by all
The Worms Head really did look like a dragon and two members even tried the crossing to visit the dragon Alas they didn't get there Perhaps that was a good thing Dylan Thomas once got trapped overnight on the Dragpn's Head and look what happened to him!!
London Walking Group May Weekend 19-21May 20:
Walks. All start and finish at the Worms Head Hotel. There is a car park there, free to National Trust Members.
Friday - 4pm. About a 2 hour walk, Worms Head and the coast path.
Saturday - All day walk, many choices, 10+ miles or 4 miles are possible! Coast path, Rhossili Down.
Lunch at The Kings Head, Llangennith. Bar snacks and main meals, no need to preorder.
Sunday - morning walk, again length up to you, up to 6 miles along the coast path, including Deborah's Hole.
Lunch back in Rhossili.
pm nothing organised but several people are staying on so there could well be an afternoon walk.
Dinners. As there are no good restaurants nearby we will eat both evenings in the Worms Head Hotel. Probably in the bar on Friday night, in the restaurant on Saturday night. We do not need to preorder.
Notes. Worms Head sounds awful, don't forget it is a local name for dragon, Dragons Head sound much better!
Let's hope for good weather but if it rains much in the next two weeks there could be mud. There are hills, mostly avoidable but probably best to bring walking poles.
Accommodation: We have chosen the Worms Head Hotel in the extreme west of the peninsular. It is a simple, pleasant 2 star hotel in a spectacular situation overlooking Rhossili Bay;
