Wimbledon Park to Osterley Lock
This was the long awaited, postponed from February Friday walk See details in Feb Friday walk slot
8 of us had a lovely walk on Friday. We were lucky with the weather as we missed the early morning rain and only had about 20 minutes of drizzle, although it was never really sunny it was pleasant. The route was varied, taking us through the more wooded Putney Heath and Wimbledon Common before crossing at Robin Hood Roundabout (did you know they have a dedicated horse crossing, with high buttons and a pen for restive horses). Then across the open top of Richmond Park for a good lunch at Pembridge Lodge and a check that you can still see St Paul's and Windsor Castle. You can, there is no building in front of St. P, but according to my son there is one behind it. Happily it was too misty to see it. Then down through Petersham and along the river to Brentford where we realised we could all get home quickly and conveniently on the 237 bus.
