By all accounts a lovely walk. Glorious autumn colours and light, grat company and a great pub. Just a pity about the mud

Travel: 

Out: Waterloo 8.15 am; Clapham Jn, 8.22 am; Milford 9.05am. Return: Godalming (on same line), about every 15 minutes. Advise getting day return to Milford

Route: 

a.m. Enton Mill, Hambledon, The Hurtwood, Greensand Way to Hascombe, St Peter’s Church. p.m. Around edge ofWinkworth Arboretum, along River Wey and Godalming Navigations Path.

a.m. 3¼ hours (inc. spectacular church visit); p.m. 3 hours. A particularly woody walk. Very muddy in places. Two stunning views a.m. Shortly after lunch one steep climb, otherwise no serious uphill. One short steep downhill; some steps downhill. Walking poles and sturdy walking boots recommended.

Lunch: 

White Horse, Hascombe. No muddy boots. Dogs welcome except in the dining room
