Train -
Outward, 9.45 from Victoria, change at East Croydon. (This gives only 5 minutes to connect with the Brighton train from Blackfriars at 10.07 so it would be safer to get the 9.32 from Victoria or to avoid the change by getting the Brighton train direct from Blackfriars at 9.44.)
Return, 16.41 arrives Victoria 17.29.
Car if driving south on the B 2036, take right turn just after the station and the bridge over the railway. Parking free on Sundays.

Route: 

This is a walk in the High Weald, much of it wooded including the very attractive woods just below Nymans - ‘a fine example ancient Wealden woodland’.

Lunch: 

lunch - bring a picnic, site to be chosen on the day. (There is the possibility of a drink at The Victory at Stapleford if it isn’t booked up.)
