Presteigne w/e Day 1 Knill

After a 3 1/2 hr drive to Presteigne many of us were looking forwrd to a gentle introductory walk before relaxing with a cool drink before dinner Did we get that? No, we got something much better that firmly blew away any London cobwebs.
About 30+ members met beside the Dragon of Knill and a joke went through the the group as we surveyed the high hills surronding us. 'We are walking up that very steep hill along the ridge and home again' 20 minutes later it began to dawn on us, this was no joke but an actuality. At the top of the hill we were promise a bench on which to sit and take in the view As it turned out, at the top of the hill was a climb to another bench for an even better view. Correct it was stupendous and any doubts about putting ourselves in Andy's hands for a great weekend were dispelled. The walk back took in Offa's Dyke and a group of very happy members arrived back for excited chatter before a retro style dinner at the Radnorshire Arms hotel
