Travel: 

A long way from Sevenoaks Station, so better by car. Go to Yahoo Group Email or use the directory for lifts and car shares.
NB Hammersmith Bridge will be closed.
Allow at least 1 1/2 hours by car. At M25 Junction 5 for Sevenoaks turn off onto A21. Very soon take A25 Riverhead. After about 3/4 mile take B2042 towards Goathurst Common. After 2.5 miles, at junction in Whitley Row, fork left down Nightingale Lane to Goathurst Common. After 1/4 mile, take the next left fork and go straight across a crossroads, signposted Yorks Hill Farm. Stubbs Wood Car Park is immediately on your right by the crossroads.

Route: 

– a.m. on Greensand Way. West along length of Stubbs Wood to Ide Hill (café and WC), then on to Toy’s Hill. NW to French Street, SW to Chartwell.
p.m. initially SE on minor road. Rejoin Greensand Way at Toy’s Hill and retrace our steps of the a.m. to Ide Hill café, 15 mins walk from our car park.

Lunch: 

the café at Chartwell (National Trust). Open to non-members. Hot food, soup, rolls, light lunches, salads, tea, coffee, cakes. No need to pre-book. No muddy boot

Notes: 

Some ups and downs. One long, steepish climb p.m. Muddy in places. Poles recommended. No stiles to climb. Wonderful views of the Weald of Kent, with Ashdown Forest and South Downs in the distance.
